CHIN AUGMENTATION

This is a cosmetic surgery whose purpose is to augment the chin’s volume in order to improve the profile or the face’s contour. We recommend it in clients who have a short jaw or an underdeveloped chin. The existence of such deficiency makes the face appear sad, especially when observed from the side.

We normally practice this surgery in parallel with that of the nose, yet we can do it in isolation as well.

The filling of such gap over the chin is done by means of an implant. Such an implant is usually based on a soft gel made of silicone (there are other materials like the hydroxyapatite that can also be used). In order to place the implant, some practitioners cut the skin at the union of the neck with the jaw. We though place such mold through the mouth. That way we avoid our client to carry any external scar and at the same time guaranteeing him satisfactory results.

In most cases, we perform the chin’s augmentation as an ambulatory process and under local anesthesia.

Similary, our client usually requires minimal absence from work, despite the normal swollenness that may be present on the first day after the surgery. Generally speaking he witnesses the expected results around the third week.
